SUMMARY:


Under general direction, handle the administration of all Health, Welfare, Retirement, Unemployment, and Absence Management programs including policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and municipal laws.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:





  • Administer the day-to-day activities of the Firm's benefit and absence programs by responding to tickets, online change requests, emails and phone calls from internal partners and employees.





  • Guide internal partners and employees in understanding and utilizing online tools and resources.





  • Collect leave documentation and determine initial assessment as to leave programs available.





  • Partner with Sr. Specialist or manager in reviewing and interpreting medical documentation and complex leave situations.





  • Review and respond to unemployment claims by investigating circumstances and preparing appropriate documentation, ensuring compliance with the unemployment insurance integrity requirements.





  • Prepares for all appeal hearings and attends hearings when necessary. Provide guidance to leaders as needed.





  • Administers employment verifications through a third-party administrator and internally for those not able to utilize a third party for the information requested.

  • Conduct reporting reviews and audits as assigned.








    • Assist in the execution of open enrollment, benefit trainings and communication development.





    • Monitor changes to laws to identify and resolve potential areas of exposure and/or noncompliance and apprise management of new mandates or areas of risk.

    EDUCAT
    ION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:



    • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in Human Resources, Benefits, and Leave Management (LOA, PTO, Sick leave, FMLA, STD, etc.) or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.



    • 3+ years' experience with benefits, disability and leave compliance (Affordable Care Act (ACA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), paid family leave plans, statutory leaves, other LOA policies, PTO and paid sick leave) required.








    CERT
    IFICATES AND/OR LICENSES:



    • Certification in Human Resources or Benefits preferred.







    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:



    • Travel required to Client sites or Kforce offices, up to 10%.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
