Cloud Applications Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cloud Applications Manager to lead and manage an industry leading Cloud DevOps practice and team. Deliver solid business value and competitive advantage by building innovative Cloud-based solutions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and hands-on full-lifecycle application development capability. The ideal candidate will lead a team of developers and engineers, ensuring the seamless operation, security, and scalability of enterprise applications while actively contributing to the codebase.
Responsibilities:
Cloud Strategy and Management:
Demonstrate leadership in the growth, development, and implementation of sustainable Cloud application strategies, ensuring alignment with EBS strategy and business goals.
Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of SaaS and custom-built Cloud applications.
Develop and manage Cloud environments for optimal performance, architectural alignment, low technical debt, cost efficiency, and security.
Technical Leadership:
Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Cloud engineers and developers.
Demonstrate technology expertise that is anchored in strong business acumen.
Collaborate with the business, UX designers, and other cross-functional teams to analyze, size, design and build scalable, reliable Cloud applications.
Set technical direction and enforce best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
Hands-On Full Lifecycle Development:
Participate in the coding and development of custom Cloud-based applications.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in languages such as Python, .NET, SQL Server, Node.js, React JavaScript
Review and optimize code developed by the team, ensuring adherence to architectural and coding standards.
Project Management:
Plan and manage Cloud application projects from conception to completion, including timelines, resources, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide status updates, and deliver on project milestones.
Develop and maintain project documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, and training materials.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and manage security best practices for Cloud applications and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Regularly audit and assess the security posture of Cloud applications and environments.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in Cloud application development, testing and deployment.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve Cloud application stack, performance, documentation, testing, security, and cost-efficiency.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, talent development and continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years' experience working in building enterprise grade solutions that solve complex user and business problems.
3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong hands-on experience with full stack hyperscale platforms such as Microsoft Azure, GCP or AWS.
Proven experience in Cloud native development services, and with languages such as .NET, React, Python, Java or Node.js, SQL.
Experience in development environments that integrate low-code and omni-channel development platforms such as Outsystems or Mendix.
Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with hybrid Cloud environments and multi-Cloud strategies.
Knowledge of ERPs (such as Oracle Fusion, SAP) and integrations with other on-premise and Cloud-based applications.
Experience with enterprise-grade Cloud and non-Cloud data storage (Azure Data Factory, Fabric, SQL Server, Oracle)
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
Strong business acumen, problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
AEC industry experience a plus.
Bachelor's degree or higher
