Location: Salem, Massachusetts
The Project Specialist reports to the Sr. Manager of Safety, Risk and PFR. As a key member of our team, the Project Specialist will provide project coordination and support to Salem Hospital's Safety, Risk and Patient Family Relations teams. Projects will include topics that support organizational ongoing compliance with regulatory standards, patient safety and patient/family centered services at Salem Hospital. The Project Specialist supports and tracks projects that facilitate monitoring/auditing of compliance, regulatory survey readiness as well as projects that improve partnerships with our patients and families. Duties include documentation and presentations that require excellent communication/people skills, thorough knowledge of computer systems, data management, analytics, relational databases, spreadsheets, and word processor applications. The Project Specialist will design and maintain project and data management tools using a variety of software and database tools. Responsibilities focus on project management details and follow up actions that maximize program outcomes. The Project Specialist will be responsible for the support, management and administration of the online safety event reporting system. The Project Specialist must be very organized and detail oriented demonstrating effective time management and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
SKILLS:
Required: Highly effective verbal and written communication skills; computer literacy skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and other programs needed for data management and report generation. Proven ability to be self-directed, highly motivated, and an effective customer/patient advocate.
Preferred: Excellent communication/people skills. Experience with RL safety event reporting system. Advanced computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint; project management experience
Experience:
Required: One to three years of experience in a health care delivery system required
Preferred: Experience in Patient Safety or Risk Management
Education/Degree Requirements:
Required: Bachelor's Degree; A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements.
Preferred: Training in project management
