Role Overview



We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support our specialty onsite, weekdays. This role will predominantly be based out of the following office: 22 Atwood Drive Northampton, MA. However, employees must be able and willing to commute to any of our 3 locations in the Northampton/Amherst area (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of fluctuating staffing shortages (for cross-coverage purposes). The schedule for this position is 4, 10-hour days per week, 7:30am to 5:30pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team with rotating provider coverage.


Responsibilities include:


  • Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office

  • Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed)

  • Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)

  • Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas

  • Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.






Qualifications

Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Completion of a formal medical assistant training program or active EMT-B certification required

  • CMA, AAMA, RMA, CNMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification preferred

  • Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) from a program approved by the American Heart Association required

  • One (1) to three (3) years' experience as a medical assistant preferred

  • OBGYN/Midwifery experience preferred
