Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. (CIFC) seeks a combined, full-time Chief of CIFC Health and Chief of Organizational Advancement. (CIFC Health is CIFC's Federally Qualified Health Center.)
For CIFC Health portion of the role (approximately 80% of combined role), the Chief will serve as the operational head of CIFC Health, one of three core divisions of CIFC, and will be responsible for the overall operational management, administration, and proper functioning of all CIFC Health line operations. (The other divisions of CIFC include early learning programs and housing and each area has the equivalent of a Chief reporting to the CEO.) CIFC Health is CIFC's largest division with approximately 200 employees. CIFC Health provides adult and pediatric medicine services, family dentistry, adult and pediatric behavioral health services, OB/GYN services, and various supportive services at 17 locations for over 15,000 patients annually. CIFC Health is also a Teaching Health Center with two accredited teaching programs, one in Internal Medicine and another in Psychiatry. The Chief serves as a member of the CEO's Cabinet with other CIFC Executive leaders, including the operational leaders of CIFC's programmatic divisions, as well as the leaders of key business functions like Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Facilities Management.
For Organization-Wide Advancement (approximately 20% of the combined role), the Chief will supervise CIFC's Advancement Director and Deputy Director of Communications and Grants Management, the latter of whom seek out grant and funding opportunities for CIFC and all its divisions and oversee both internal and external communications. (Proportionally, most of the grant/advancement/communications work is related to CIFC Health, thereby dictating the decision to combine this responsibility with the Chief of CIFC Health role.) In addition, this role will oversee the Advancement Director's event planning and related work. The Chief will work closely with CIFC's CEO on Organization-Wide Strategic Planning and serve as a surrogate for the CEO, as needed, at community meetings, speaking engagements, and the like.
While the expectation is that this individual will join CIFC with extensive health care experience and, as a result, may not necessarily have a depth of experience in early learning or housing programs, it is expected that the selected individual will have the skills/capabilities to learn sufficient information about CIFC's latter two divisions to help coordinate organization-wide strategic planning and communications, to speak knowledgeably about such programs in general, and to make decisions, when needed, in the CEO's absence. This individual will work closely with the operational heads of the Early Learning Programs and Housing Management, along with the CEO.
Requirements:The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree plus a Master's Degree in a related field (such as Public Administration, Nursing, or Public Health, etc.) with five (5) or more years of progressively responsible significant supervisory/administrative experience or the equivalent in health care operations. Strong leadership and project management skills required, along with extensive knowledge and/or experience in strategic planning, grant management/writing, communications, and/or advancement. Knowledge of and/or experience in community health centers and Lean Six Sigma certification preferred. Clinical knowledge/experience also strongly preferred. Computer user skills required: familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems and Microsoft office (word, excel, Teams). Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply. Competitive compensation, plus fringe benefits package.
