Martin/Martin has an opening for an entry-level position in the Civil department in our Lakewood, Colorado office. The position will provide opportunities for civil design throughout the Front Range of Colorado and national locations. Martin/Martin is the leading civil/structural engineering consulting firm in the region. We are client focused and employee centered. The EIT will possess strong verbal and written communication skills with a willingness to learn, self-motivated, and works overtime when required.

This is an entry-level position for engineering design. Developing professional knowledge and abilities in the office and field. Requires application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Duties vary based on discipline listed in title.


EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge and use of computer design and CAD/BIM software
  • Prepares details and calculations for project components and systems
  • Learns about products and construction procedures
  • Prepares and writes reports
  • Provides field observation during construction
  • Studies and applies building code and/or jurisdictional requirements
  • Reviews shop drawings and product submittals
  • Checks own work
  • Coordinates work with other disciplines
  • Acts proactively and proposes potential solutions to problems
  • Works overtime, when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

This position is primarily technical in nature and requires working inside and outside the office to complete a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:

  • Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time
  • Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
  • Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder
  • Identify color
  • Read, communicate, and document in English
  • Determine and exchange accurate information
  • Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Investigative: Positions self in atypical environments and small, confined spaces
Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
  • Has passed FE Examination
