POSITION: Development Engineer, Monitoring & Diagnostics

JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
Continuously improve the OSIsoft PI system architecture to ensure real-time acquisition and reporting systems remain current in the ever-changing IT / Data landscape
Ensure stability of Asset Framework (AF), AF Analysis, Event Frames, and Notifications
Create and maintain tools for monitoring, analyzing and graphically representing Gas Turbine operations using various software
Continuously refine monitoring models to mimic real life engine behavior, minimize false alarms, and predict GT alarms before they occur
Create automated tools and templates as necessary for recurring tasks to improve team responsiveness and productivity
Required to be available to respond during working and non-working hours
Facilitate and actively work to ensure all quality documentation is correct, complete, and recorded as appropriate
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Training
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or other related Engineering disciplines preferred. Alternative accreditation and experience may be acceptable.
Experience with a modern programming language (MATLAB, Python, Java, C++, C#, etc.)
Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Basic knowledge and understanding of software development practices including Agile methodology
Ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for data and analytics
Proficient written and verbal communications skills
Preferred Skills/Experience
Experience with the OSIsoft PI system, including PI Asset Framework (AF), PI ProcessBook, PI System Explorer, PI Vision, etc.
AWS experience/certification is a plus
Data science experience/education
Power generation/IGT knowledge/experience
Combustion/thermodynamics education
Energy/Utilities experience with application support and development.
Technical knowledge of networks and related hardware and software.
Technical knowledge of network security.
Experience with documenting procedures and best practices.
