Responsibilities

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager with 7-15 years of experience to join our HVAC discipline out of our Rocky Hill, CT office. This is an opportunity for a motivated HVAC/Energy focused professional to grow and be a significant contributor to shaping the company’s future in these industries.



Qualifications



What you’ll do:

  • Project Management for planning, design, and construction administration for a variety both new and retrofit projects for a variety of facility types within the private, public and municipal sectors including but not limited to commercial, institutional, industrial, and educational facilities.
  • Function as the project technical leader on more challenging projects.
  • Review assigned projects to define project scope, develop schedules, budgets, staffing, and progress billing points.
  • Manage engineers and technical staff from all disciplines as needed on a variety of projects.
  • Prepare and /or supervise engineering reports, studies, calculations and specifications, review drawings and peer review services of designs and reports by others.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary personnel located in both local and regional offices, sub-consultants, utility companies, equipment vendors and clients.
  • Work with other professionals to assist in the pursuit for new business, including proposal writing.
  • Supervise, train and mentor less experienced project engineers.

This position requires local travel within New England and occasionally the east of the US for project meetings and site investigation.

What you’ll bring:

  • 7-15 years of relevant mechanical design and/or energy related experience; at least 2 years of relevant project management experience.
  • BSME from an accredited institution
  • P. E. license
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with dealing with multiple projects at a time
  • Good Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive, production and results oriented; strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Experience in design and/or analysis of large central steam and chilled water energy systems is a plus
  • Revit 3D modeling is desired but not required.
