About the Role

As the Senior Manager, Benefits, your claim to fame will be designing and optimizing benefit, wellbeing, and retirement programs that create a quality employee experience that differentiates Bose from our competitors. You will lead an engaged team of benefit and wellbeing experts, bringing out the best in them each and every day.

Primary responsibilities, include:


  • Provide overall leadership to the benefit and well-being teams including designing, implementing, and managing competitive, innovative, and cost-effective global strategies and programs.

  • Create and drive a benefits strategy grounded in competitive practice and operational excellence that supports building a talented and engaged workforce. Navigate integration of benefits opportunities arising from any M&A activity.

  • Lead annual benefits costing and design efforts, including regular plan reviews in partnership with our benefits advisor and benefit providers. Evaluate administrative costs and pricing of benefit and wellness programs and recommend strategies to provide competitive and cost-effective offerings.

  • Direct management of benefits providers to maximize service levels for plan management and participants while negotiating favorable contract terms and conditions. In partnership with internal procurement team, lead contract negotiations and renewals with vendors.

  • Develop compelling communication plans and programs to ensure employees understand, value, and participate in the company's benefits and wellness offerings.

  • Manage strong cross-functional relationships with payroll, finance, legal, compliance, Global Business Services (GBS), internal communications, IT, and other HR colleagues.

  • Demonstrate a strong customer-focused mindset while ensuring adherence to policies. Work with IT and GBS to streamline and automate service delivery with faster speed, greater efficiency, and higher quality.

  • Partner with Global HR managers to implement country-specific benefits offerings that are locally competitive and consistent with Bose's overall strategy. Leverage global benefits broker relationship to coordinate and support these teams.

  • Facilitate and support Benefit Committee meetings, including setting meeting cadence and agendas, and providing relevant updates and trends around internal and external practices.

  • Develop, track, analyze, and leverage a set of key metrics, processes, and performance indicators that align with organization goals, operational strategies, and plans.

  • Coordinate with counsel to ensure all benefit programs are in compliance with applicable regulatory and legislative requirements, including but not limited to ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ACA. Oversee annual regulatory compliance.

  • Advise on 401(k) and pension plans including coordination of plan testing (Form 5500), plan design, and administration, committee reviews.

  • Support and respond to government audits, requests for information, or other inquiries. With the advice of counsel.

  • Develop, maintain, and oversee policy and program development, including those related to the Company's various paid time off offerings, accommodations, etc.

About You


  • Minimum 10 plus years of experience administering and managing benefits with increasing responsibilities and global exposure.

  • A champion of change, having led major plan changes and integration of benefits offerings post mergers and acquisitions.

  • Leader with the ability to effectively interact and influence others at all levels in the organization.

  • Skilled collaborator, managing partnerships with vendors, internal stakeholders, service providers, and outside consultants to achieve results.

  • Able to take initiative, effective at prioritizing multiple projects, and comfortable working in a deadline-oriented environment.

  • Analytical thinker with strong financial and quantitative skills to conduct research, analyze data and solve complex problems through fact-based decision making.

  • Extraordinary verbal and written communication ability.

  • Strong coaching, team development and overall leadership skills.

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or HR-related discipline.

  • Knowledge of US benefits laws and regulations including IRS code, ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA. Familiarity with key international health and welfare programs and retirement schemes.
