Job Description



The Product Manager & Leader Auditor for Aviation Compliance is responsible for pursuing and maintaining technical qualifications for the Flight Safety Foundation Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) program. Responsible for managing Aviation Compliance projects, assignments, and ensuring updates to finance on project completion and forecasted completion dates. Grow market share in collaboration with sales managers. Perform Quality Checks for reports, conduct Peer Reviews, and be responsible for related technical support. In addition to managing the BARS SGS accreditation, Aviation Compliance provides aviation safety advice, conducts operational and technical audits, and completes aviation projects for SGS Aviation Compliance clients. This position is a direct link with Client representatives on aviation matters and works in accordance with SGS Aviation Compliance standards and procedures. In addition, their advice to Clients is drawn from both regulatory requirements, and the best international practices, and supported by professional in-house peer reviews. Further responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Providing technical and commercial aviation advice.

  • Preparing written audit and project reports with recommendations for the conduct and continuous improvement of client aviation activities.

  • Following up and closing out issues raised in the course of their duties.

  • Maintaining professional contact and effective working relationships with Clients.

  • Maintaining professional qualifications through company training and participation in SGS seminars.

  • Satisfying the administrative duties required for the efficient conduct of the position.

  • Be compliant with all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures.

  • Pursue and maintain technical qualifications in maintaining accreditation with the Flight Safety Foundation Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) program.

  • Perform Quality Checks for BARS reports, conduct BARS Peer Reviews, and be responsible on related technical support.

  • Responsible for managing Aviation Compliance projects, assignments, and ensuring updates to finance on project completion and forecasted completion dates.

  • Provide technical, safety, and commercial aviation advice, conduct operational and technical audits, and complete aviation projects for SGS Aviation Compliance clients.

  • Prepare written audit and project reports with recommendations for the conduct and continuous improvement of Client aviation activities, including following up and resolving issues raised in the course of their duties.




Qualifications




Education and Experience

Required:


  • Bachelor's degree

  • Required 15 years of aviation industry / aviation audit experience.

  • Airline Transport Pilots Licenses or Flight Engineer License or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License or related aviation industry license

  • 5 years Flight Safety Foundation Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) program

  • Quality Assurance experience in the aviation industry, including experience relevant to SGS Compliance Aviation activities.

  • Fluency in English

Preferred:


  • French language proficiency


Licenses/ Certifications



  • Flight Safety Foundation Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) program certified.

  • Specialist aviation qualifications or equivalent experience.

  • HUET training certificate, preferred.

  • Advisors participating in the BARS auditing program must meet all the requirements set out in the BARS procedures manual.

  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast paced, highly professional environment.

  • Works well under pressure.

  • Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.

  • Ensure full compliance with the company's Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct Policies.

  • Required integrity, tact, character, and high professional standards.


Travel



  • Travel to other SGS locations or client locations may be required frequently.
