As an Industrial Manufacturing Painter, your primary responsibility is to prepare and apply paint coatings to various industrial equipment, machinery, and structures. Your work plays a crucial role in enhancing the durability, appearance, and corrosion resistance of manufactured products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Thoroughly clean and prepare surfaces for painting by removing rust, dirt, grease, and old paint using various methods such as sandblasting, power washing, scraping, and chemical treatments.
Accurately mix paint colors and types according to specifications and project requirements. Ensure proper viscosity and consistency for optimal application.
Utilize various painting techniques including spraying, brushing, and rolling to achieve desired coverage, texture, and finish. Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations during application processes.
Maintain and clean painting equipment such as spray guns, brushes, rollers, and compressors to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors promptly.
Inspect painted surfaces for defects, runs, or inconsistencies and make necessary touch-ups or corrections to achieve high-quality finishes. Follow quality control procedures to meet industry standards and customer specifications.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks of accidents, injuries, and exposure to hazardous materials. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, gloves, and safety glasses as required.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of paint usage, material consumption, and work performed.
Complete necessary paperwork, such as work orders and inspection reports, in a timely and organized manner. Perform other related duties as assigned, including cleanliness of workspace.
Operating a forklift and performing rigging of heavy loads.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in painting or related field is a plus.
Experience:
Proven experience as an industrial painter or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of different types of paints, coatings, and primers used in industrial applications.
Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various positions and environments, including confined spaces and heights.
Specific skills and knowledge requirement:
Fork lift license
Lifting up to 50lbs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively manage multiple priorities
