Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your role will be an integral part of Owensboro's maintenance team helping to attain safety, process reliability, and cost goals in all aspects of the site.
Key Responsibilities
Must be a "hands on" maintenance person
Mechanical ability including troubleshooting abilities on paper converting machines
Use appropriate tools to diagnose electrical issues
Ability to read and interpret schematics
Trouble shooting PLC's - Training provided.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Strong computer knowledge including Windows, Microsoft programs, and email etiquette
Strong communication abilities for interactions with employees, management, vendors, and contractors.
Lead maintenance, safety, or training meetings when needed.
Ability to provide support and coaching to production employees
Ensures that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.
Provide compensated "on call" support.
Demonstrate and train safe practices
Lead PM and down day projects, organize team and work assignments
Design, test, and implement approved safety improvements
Visit other sites to assist in projects and share or procure improvement ideas.
Perform maintenance Manager's tasks when Manager is unavailable
Participate in planning meetings
Schedule projects
Order parts
Use all shop equipment safely to repair or fabricate machine parts when needed
Assist and Direct outside contractors when on production floor
Attend training whenever needed.
Identify and implement any reliability opportunities to improve
Keep Maintenance Manager informed of any and all maintenance department issues
Prioritize tasks to insure minimal downtime
Make Critical "on the spot" decisions to maintenance issues whenever needed.
Willing to work evening shifts
Required Education/Professional Experiences:
5+ years maintenance experience
Proven leadership abilities to effectively guide and advise team(s).
Delegation abilities to analyze their team's skills, abilities, and experience to assign appropriate tasks.
Preferred Education/Professional Experiences:
Advanced level of knowledge of the paper converting process with experience in maintaining production equipment, acquired over 5+ years of experience in the industry and/or 5+ years maintenance experience.
PLC (programable logic controller) Programming Certification in manufacturing.
