Join us in activating the Insulet and Omnipod brands, as we build a creative services powerhouse! As the Associate Creative Director, Design within the Creative Services arm of the Global Marketing Excellence Group you will be a key leader in the development of Omnipod brand equity and a steward of the brand globally. You will support the creative vision and team to develop creative assets that support various paid advertising and field sales marketing initiatives targeting healthcare providers and consumers within our new Global Marketing Excellence (GME) department. We're thrilled to open the search for a transformative Associate Creative Director-with extensive experience in design and art direction, and a passion to lead internal and freelance team members and contribute individually, as needed.

The GME leads the ongoing development and implementation of the Omnipod and Insulet brand design system and asset development for the various product franchise teams as well as the regional (US and International) marketing teams. We partner with both external creative agencies and our in-house team to bring the creative strategies to life. In addition to the Omnipod brand, the GME also supports various Insulet corporate programs.

You'll collaborate with teams across the GME department (Marketing Services, Strategy, Brand, Digital Marketing), Franchise & Commercial Marketing teams, and Corporate Communications to achieve business objectives through innovative brand and creative initiatives. We're looking for a dynamic individual with a strong graphic design background, a keen eye for impactful creative, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. Experience in designing for multi-channel marketing, including social media, web, and email automation, is essential, as well as proficiency in mobile-first creative development.

In this role, you will manage current creative staff and freelancers while also putting your creative vision to work. You will also have the opportunity to grow the creative team with the goal of continuing to elevate our creative across multiple channels. The goal is to inspire and mentor members while guiding our Omnipod and Insulet brand through various touchpoints. You'll review work, solve problems, and provide constructive feedback, all while fostering team development and shared success.

Key Responsibilities



  • Steward of the Omnipod & Insulet Brand: Key leader in the development and implementation of the Omnipod and Insulet brand design principles and ensuring that the equity is clearly and consistently communicated across all touchpoints. Drive clarity and consistency for the brand, becoming the voice of the brand and decision maker of what is on- or off-brand (tone and design).


  • Creative Development: Taking existing strategies and executing them throughout the marketing funnel-transforming ideas into polished designs, producing art layouts and overseeing execution with attention to detail.


  • Leadership: Trains and manages a diverse team, including staff and freelancers, while providing art direction for creative projects, photography, and illustrations.


  • Art Direction: Lead art direction for assets distributed through organic and paid channels including broadcast, radio, digital media, and industry leading events.


  • Quality Assurance: Elevates design quality by adhering to production standards and ensuring all deliverables align with strategic briefs and Omnipod or Insulet's brand guidelines.


  • Creative Project Management: Reviews budgets, objectives and presentation techniques; collaborates with key partners to achieve optimal creative output.


  • Operational Efficiency: Working with the marketing services team, resolves issues, identifies process improvements, monitors expenses for cost-effectiveness, and implements savings measures.


  • Design Confidence: Presents final designs to various marketing teams, incorporating feedback and elevating the work. Live the GME motto - "Where good ideas get better."


  • Continuous Improvement: Enhances quality by evaluating processes and staying updated on industry trends through ongoing education and professional development.


  • Innovation: Embraces new challenges and enhances the department's reputation through ownership and creative problem-solving.

Skills and Qualifications (Required)


  • Passion for consistent and impactful design systems. Skilled at designing and leading them throughout an international organization.

  • Brand defining art direction background with strong skills in developing work with clear hierarchy of design.

  • Has led a creative team with direct reports and led various photoshoots; casting; selection process; etc.

  • Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure situations, with the ability to develop contingency plans.

  • Effective conflict resolution and ability to create win/win solutions.

  • Credibility in cross-functional collaboration, especially with senior leaders.

  • Proficiency in applying new technology principles to creative marketing and advertising.

  • Experience managing multiple projects with diverse marketing partners and deadlines.

  • Ability to hire, train, and motivate creative individuals.

  • Clear goal-setting and strategic planning capabilities.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, prioritization, and decision-making skills.

  • Collaborative mindset across departments.

Skills and Qualifications (Preferred)


  • Strategic thinking based on insights, with a solid understanding of design systems and UI/UX.

  • PPT skills a plus, along with familiarity with META strategies, digital landscapes, and AV/print advertising formats.

  • Expertise in managing deliverables across various channels and timelines.

  • Experience in healthcare marketing, particularly digital health or medical devices.

  • International experience or experience working with global teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly under pressure, with a focus on flexibility and dependability.

  • Empathy for customers, particularly those living with diabetes.

  • Ability to share portfolio of work

Education and Experience Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent education and work experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in art direction, design, or copywriting, ideally with a mix of global in-house and agency experience, ideally with a mix of product and brand work at global companies.

  • 4+ years in healthcare marketing or 3+ years in a related field (like medical devices, pharma, or another regulated industry).

  • A strong design portfolio showcasing innovative work that demonstrates your ability to lead designs that drive business results.

Physical Requirements


  • Travel is estimated to be 30% inclusive of international travel

  • Work can be in-person, remote, or hybrid, based on employee preference. However, candidates must be able to travel to (this is not an exhaustive list) and available for calls with International partners:

    • Acton, Massachusetts (at least 4 times a year)

    • Creative shoots (up to 6 times a year)

    • Field Sales Marketing Immersion (2-4 days a year)

    • International initiatives (up to 4 times a year)

    • Project-related diabetes events, tradeshows, or conferences, often on weekends/holidays (few times a year).

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $119,700.00 - $179,850.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
