Job Description:

SUMMARY:


The Testing Center Proctor provides proctoring services for students with disabilities who receive testing accommodations. The Proctor also provides basic reception for the office of Disability Services.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Test Proctoring

  • Facilitates the Testing Center bookings process for students and professors via the Testing Center software
  • Greets test takers upon arrival and briefs them on the guidelines; escorts students into the Testing Center
  • Monitors test takers via video software to ensures guidelines are being followed
  • Facilitates communication between students and professors if students have questions during test taking (email, phone, etc.)
  • Escorts students back to the lobby when testing is complete; scans tests and emails completed tests to professors
Reception Duties
  • Provides basic reception for the office of Disability Services by greeting office visitors, answering the phone, providing answers to frequently asked questions, and directing inquiries to appropriate Disability Services or University staff
  • Receives/sorts and distributes campus mail to appropriate Disability Services staff
  • Advocates for awareness, understanding and the diversity and inclusion of all people in Health & Well-being facilities, programs and communication while providing a commitment to work effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds. Advocates for the educational and cultural benefits of providing diversity and inclusion.



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Computer skills to include working with databases, spreadsheets and word processing; proficiency in Windows, MS Word and Excel required
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with attention to detail
  • Experience working with students and/or adults with disabilities preferred
  • Pattern of excellent attendance and punctuality in prior positions preferred
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative support of experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at University of Richmond

WORK HOURS:

  • Part-time, non-exempt position; on-campus (not remote)
  • Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 p.m. with weekend and evening hours during peak exam weeks
  • 38.75 hours per week during fall and spring semesters August-May; 1,317.50 hours per year (approximately 38.75 hours x 34 weeks)

SALARY STRUCTURE:


Pay Grade 2 (Hiring Range $15.15 to $17.80 per hour)
