As a Medical Credentialing Specialist with Choctaw Workforce Solutions (CWS), you will play a pivotal role in supporting healthcare providers and licensed professionals at a medical treatment facility (MTF), helping them stay mission-ready! In this role, you will be the go-to expert in managing the credentials of our healthcare team, from doctors to therapists. You will verify, monitor, and coordinate everything required to ensure credentials are current, renewals are managed, and essential documentation is organized and file correctly. As part of the CWS team, you will play a crucial part in supporting both patient care and readiness.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Credentials Management & Auditing:
Verify, maintain, and audit healthcare provider files.
Ensure provider applications are complete and accurate, following up with providers for any missing information.
Maintain an eye on license expiration dates and proactively initiate the renewal process to ensure services run smoothly.
Coordination & Communication:
Work with the MTF credentialing office to oversee the credentialing process while coordinating between internal and external agencies.
Report missing documentation or delays to the appropriate personnel, including the Chief Medical Officer.
File Maintenance:
Regularly update any practitioner credential files and provider activity files.
Ensure all activities align with departmental policies, meet productivity standards, and follow DoD, DHA, and MTF training requirements.
Productivity & Compliance:
Adhere to productivity standards and maintain a level of performance consistent with other team members.
Ensure compliance with health, immunization, and vaccination requirements; complete all specified DoD, DHA, and MTF training.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year of college.
Must be a United States citizen.
Experience:
At least one (1) year of experience as a full-time medical credentialing specialist, focusing on verifying and maintaining credentials for licensed and certified medical staff.
Licensure & Certifications:
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

Ability to accurately prioritize, manage, and verify large volumes of data.

Consistently maintains high standards with healthcare providers and agency representatives to gather and communicate essential information.

Skilled at interacting professionally with healthcare providers and agency representatives to gather and communicate essential information.
Proactive Problem-Solving:
Swiftly identify and address credentialing issues to ensure seamless support to the healthcare team.
Confidentiality:
Understanding of HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality, ensuring all patient interactions and records are managed with discretion.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Location:
Work will primarily be performed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and affiliated facilities within a forty (40) mile radius with potential assignments based on operational needs.
Schedule:
Hours may vary based on mission requirements, including surge support during mobilizations and demobilizations. Flexibility is required to meet mission demands.
Compliance:
Follow government, DoD, and MTF clinical standards, and record work hours accurately in DMHRSi and other required systems.
