YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Patient Interaction:
Greet and assist patients entering medical screening, maintain an efficient flow in waiting areas, and provide vital checks with accurate documentation.
Observe patients for distress, report any abnormalities to senior medical personnel, and offer minor routine care under the supervision of healthcare providers.
Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment:
Clean and restock necessary supplies, disinfect instruments according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and ensure daily quality checks on equipment.
Perform administrative support tasks ensuring seamless operations in the clinic or section as needed.
Accurate Documentation:
Complete thorough and legible documentation for all treatments provided in accordance with SRPC directives and MTF protocols.
Record each patient encounter by the end of the day, meeting established documentation standards for accuracy, legibility, and completeness.
Support Emergency Response:
Recognize and respond to emergency situations by initiating appropriate measures to provide essential care.
Collaborate with additional medical team members to support prompt and effective emergency management as needed.
Productivity & Compliance:
Adhere to productivity standards and maintain a level of performance consistent with other team members.
Ensure compliance with health, immunization, and vaccination requirements, and complete all specified DoD, DHA, and MTF training.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant school or program of instruction.
Must be a United States citizen.
Experience:
At least one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years working as a full-time CAN in a clinical or healthcare setting.
Licensure & Certifications:
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Skills & Competencies:
Detail-Oriented:
High level of accuracy in patient documentation, recognizing symptoms, and following clinical protocols.
Communication:
Able to effectively communicate with patients and collaborate with senior healthcare personnel in a professional setting.
Confidentiality Awareness:
Understanding of HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality, ensuring all patient interactions and records are managed with discretion.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Location:
Work will primarily be performed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and affiliated facilities within a forty (40) mile radius with potential assignments based on operational needs.
Schedule:
Hours may vary based on mission requirements, including surge support during mobilizations and demobilizations. Flexibility is required to meet mission demands.
Telehealth:
May be required to provide remote services during public health emergencies or other contingencies.
Compliance:
Follow government, DoD, and MTF clinical standards, and record work hours accurately in DMHRSi and other required systems.
