Position Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work independently and in teams to meet production schedules.
  • Must follow standard work procedures for all products made in facility
  • Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Buckhorn policies and OSHA Standards
  • Monitor PPE worn by all employees to ensure compliance with plant standards
  • Troubleshoot work-related problems by using proven problem-solving techniques
  • First line QC to visually inspect parts on presses throughout the shift
  • Assist with 5S process and procedures. Encourage team members to follow 5-S practices
  • Monitor machinery and equipment to detect problems
  • Responsible for production operator relief
  • Know proper procedures to follow in case of emergency, such as potential personal injury, water, gas leak, and power failure
  • Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures by communicating directly with the shift supervisor
  • Trains Production Operator I
  • Perform duties of production operator, as required

Education and Experience


  • One to three months related experience and/or training; preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

LANGUAGE SKILLS:


  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, work orders, schedules, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:


  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to do multiple mathematical operations to arrive at the solution.

REASONING ABILITY:


  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
