Commercial Electrical Estimator
Denny's Electric is searching for a skilled commercial electrical estimator to add to our team. In this position, it will be your job to analyze the elements of an electrical project and create an accurate cost estimate for the project as a whole.
Some of the tasks that you'll be responsible for will include reviewing plans and interpreting specifications and determining the labor and materials/package costs for a complete installation. Ensure that you provide clients with as accurate of a prediction as possible.
This role will also require you to work directly with clients and electricians regularly. So you need to be professional and capable of providing answers to the questions that clients may ask.
Electrical Estimator Responsibilities:
Review building plans and their elements to make accurate price estimates for electrical projects
Calculate the potential profitability of projects
Answer questions for clients about their electrical work
Share your findings through written briefs and RFI request
Evaluate the labor and materials costs of electrical projects
Needs to be able to seek out new business opportunities, build relationships, develop plans for acting on those opportunities and execute plans to secure success.
Be able to create a bill of materials required by the National Electric Code for an installation from drawings or description of work.
Familiar with estimating software and preferably understands CAD basics and Bluebeam or other PDF software for electronic sketching.
Electrical Estimator Requirements:
Electrician certification or a relevant bachelor's degree
Previous experience as an electrician or in this industry
Preferred Journeyman or Master license
Ability to provide highly-accurate estimates for a wide variety of electrical projects
Excellent customer service skills and self-motivated
Professional demeanor and appearance
Understanding of the National Electrical Code
Able to project manage at times.
Be able to use Microsoft Office 365 - Word, Excel
Able to read blueprints and specifications and apply them to estimates or bids.
Preferred knowledge of using estimating software, Viewpoint and Digital Take-off or similar systems
