Position Overview:
The Operational Manager will lead and coordinate all facets of the Operations Department, including scheduling, forecasting, and strategic planning, to ensure optimal use of assets for maximum safety, exceptional customer service, and efficiency. This role reports directly to the General Manager.

Requirements:
Oversee daily operations and dispatch, ensuring efficient coordination and schedule adherence.
Enforce DOT regulations to prevent operational and safety issues while monitoring charter bookings for efficiency and compliance with customer requirements.
Schedule and adjust routes, contracts, and charters to optimize resources and meet demand.
Assign drivers and vehicles to routes, managing last-minute changes and vacation schedules.
Enter driver and vehicle assignments into the Distinctive program for accurate record-keeping.
Review driver paperwork for accuracy in pay and billing data before processing.
Address and resolve customer concerns by coordinating with relevant teams for timely solutions.
Foster a positive work environment, managing driver morale and uniform compliance.
Collaborate with managers to provide comprehensive training for drivers, dispatchers, and operations staff.
Work with HR, Safety, and General Managers on driver concerns and disciplinary actions.
Approve operational purchases while adhering to budget guidelines.
Partner with the Safety Manager to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with regulations.
Participate in audits to maintain adherence to operational standards.
Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure vehicle readiness and timely repairs.
Assist with additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Maintain confidentiality regarding all company matters, especially operational and personnel issues.
Qualifications:
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Supervisory experience, preferably in transportation or a related field.
Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in both independent and team settings.
Knowledge of and compliance with traffic, driver safety, and DOT regulations.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Willingness to learn GPS monitoring systems and company-specific software.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including holidays and irregular schedules as needed.
Preferred Licenses:
Current CDL Class B with a P endorsement
Current DOT physical
Drug & Alcohol Supervisor Training will be provided, if not already certified.
