The Department of the History and Sociology of Science at the University of Pennsylvania seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in the history of information sciences, digital infrastructures and devices, and computing and related areas, in any geographical or cultural context.
The department has a thriving PhD program, two important and successful undergraduate majors, and an excellent track record placing our PhD graduates. Strong candidates will have a promising research trajectory and a teaching portfolio relevant to our departmental priorities.
Our program values interdisciplinary research, collaboration, and collegiality; is committed to promoting a culturally diverse intellectual community; and strongly encourages applications from members of all under-represented communities.
The appointment will begin on July 1, 2022, by which time the successful candidate is expected to have completed their PhD.
