Buena Vista University invites applications for a tenure-track Director of the Graduate Program in Organizational Leadership at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program is a 30-credit-hour, online program with 4 track options. In addition to teaching courses, the Director is responsible for program and curriculum administration and oversight. Duties include hiring, mentoring, and evaluating faculty; scheduling and assigning faculty to courses; assessment and program improvement; and admitting, mentoring, and advising students through program completion. Courses are offered in an 8-week, online asynchronous format, with 6 terms per year. Directors teach 5 courses per year with approximately half of their time devoted to administrative duties. This is a full-time, off-sight position, but knowledge of the Midwest and the ability to engage in occasional regional travel is strongly preferred. Directors have 12-month contracts and are allowed to take up to 8 weeks of time off during the calendar year.
QualificationsYou must possess a PhD in communication, business-focused organizational leadership, leadership studies or an ED.D in Organizational Leadership. In addition, you must provide evidence of successful teaching in an online format. The following are also desirable: experience in personnel and budgetary management; curriculum oversight and development; support for the university's mission; strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work collaboratively; strong organizational, assessment, presentation, and communication skills; and effective leadership, strategic planning, writing, and intercultural skills.
