Position Summary:
The Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery - ProgramDirector of Orthopedic Surgery position will be in the Department of Surgery atOSU COM. Thisposition is actively involved in leadership and teaching of orthopedics residents. Additionally, this position will have aclinical orthopedics practice at the OSU Medical Center. Appropriate effort and activity in clinicalresearch, service, and scholarly activity will also be necessary as well as aclinical record of sufficient depth to qualify for faculty appointment at therank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The position will work with existing surgery/orthopedic surgery faculty.
Environmental Hazard:
Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot andcold, blood borne pathogens.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carrypush, and pull 20 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk,hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonableaccommodations. Sufficient to carry out specific job functions of anorthopedic surgeon

-Be innovative Education & Experience Position Qualifications: Requirements:
-D.O.or M.D. degree
-Eligible for licensure in the State of Oklahoma
-Board Certification by the AOA or ABMS
-Appropriatestaff privileges at OSU MC.
-Aminimum of four (4) years of clinical practice in the specialty postresidency/fellowship.
-A minimum of two(2) years of experience as an associate program director of an ACGME-accreditedorthopedic surgery program, or, three (3) years of participation as an activefaculty member in an AOA or AGCME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency program
Skills, Proficiencies andKnowledge:
-Knowledge of all areas related to the clinical practice oforthopedic surgery.
-Requires strong analytical skills, advanced multi-taskingskills, advanced problem solving skills, practice management experience, andthe ability to effectively plan.
-Computer skills are needed to operateelectronic medical records.
-Good communication and leadership skills are apositive.
-Interpersonal skills arerequired to interact effectively with faculty, orthopedics resident physicians,medical students, patients and providers.
