The Center for Pharmacogenetics is within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Pharmacy and represents a cohesive and collaborative group of investigators whose labs are well equipped to perform state-of-the-art basic and translational research. The Center and Department take pride in excellence in extramural funded research. Existing research programs and strengthens at the Center include gene regulation in drug metabolism and drug-induced liver toxicity, liver diseases, and metabolic syndrome; metabolomics; integrative cancer genomics and bioinformatics; pharmacogenomics of adverse drug reactions; rationale design of gene therapy and pharmacotherapy for the treatment of cancer and other diseases; and use of genetically engineered animal models.
Assists in the design, development, and implementation of software programming applications and determines technical specifications and standards for basic projects. Codes, tests, troubleshoots, and debugs software applications and participates in the proposal of enhanced software applications.
The successful candidate will assist in the design, development and implementation of software programming applications and determine technical specifications and standards for base projects. They will code, test, troubleshoot and debug software applications and participate in the proposal of enhanced software applications. Troubleshoots applications and programs as needed. Maintains and modifies systems as necessary. Develops an improved set of webtools for the construction of molecular simulation systems of siRNA nanoparticles and the generation of force field parameters on the fly. The successful applicant must be willing to work with biologists to understand the application of webtools in solving biological questions. Prior experience and/or knowledge of wet lab and/or bioinformatics is preferred. Candidate should have experience with Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS/Sass, SASS, TypeScript and PHP.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
