Description:

Maps Credit Union seeks a Private Client Officer to join our Private Client team. This support role assists the Private Client Relationship Managers in delivering exceptional advice and service to our members and performing administrative tasks for the team. The ideal candidate for this is self-motivated, detail-oriented, professional and an excellent communicator.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Private Client Relationship Managers by managing and maintaining relationships with clients to earn trust, understand needs, provide targeted advice, develop thoughtful solutions and deliver an exceptional client experience.
  • Coordinate Private Client events and assist with distribution of marketing materials.
  • Assist with tracking Private Client data and department budget and goals.
  • Provide lobby leadership of the professional services floor. Act as a guide to clients and visitors of Private Client and Maps Investments teams.
  • Open, set up or perform maintenance on all Private Client related accounts and services.
  • Answer questions and effectively resolve issues related to accounts or services in person or over the phone while maintaining constructive, positive working relationships with clients/members and their representatives.
  • Work directly with other professionals outside of Maps such as Estate Planning Attorneys, CPA's and Financial Planners to take care of client needs.
  • Act as a resource for branch staff by providing support and training on Private Client accounts and services, trust and estate accounts, promoting and cross-selling Credit Union related products and services.
  • Effectively coordinate sales efforts with other Credit Union resources to ensure quality and timely member service.
  • Demonstrate effective sales skills and production performance to meet annual personal, department, and organizational goals. Committed to facilitating the growth and development of the Credit Union.
  • Originate, process, prepare loan documentation, and complete all consumer and home equity loans within established credit guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Maps' products/services and conduct in-depth discoveries of the clients' current relationships and needs.
  • Knowledgeable about and complies with all relevant Credit Union regulations, policies and procedures. Enhances job performance by applying up to date professional and technical knowledge.
  • Participate in Credit Union development activities and represent the Credit Union in industry and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc.
  • Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags and other compliance-related policies.
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills and the capacity to integrate diverse objectives with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  3. Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; intermediate computer skills, including the use of word processing and spreadsheet software applications and e-mail.
  4. Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  5. Ability to retain a broad knowledge of tasks performed in department.
  6. Ability to take initiative; good problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  8. Ability to cross-sell Credit Union services effectively and accurately.
  9. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  10. Ability to work with co-workers, members, and outside agencies professionally and tactfully.
  11. Willingness and ability to travel within service areas to visit clients/members and conduct site visits.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and financial industry-specific training.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' progressively responsible Banking/Credit Union experience, including new accounts and home equity lending.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in customer service, and in direct and indirect selling roles.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Must meet the minimum standards set by SAFE and any applicable state laws, if performing the duties of an MLO. These minimum standards include but are not limited to: (1) never having the employee's loan originator license revoked in any governmental jurisdiction, and (2) not having been convicted of nor pled guilty or nolo contendere to a felony in a domestic, foreign, or military court (a) during the seven-year period preceding the date of application for licensing and registration, or (b) at any time preceding such date of application if such felony involved an act of fraud, act of dishonesty, a breach of trust, or money laundering.
  • If performing the duties of an MLO, must be eligible to renew and must maintain registration with the Registry or the applicable state agency. Failure to renew or maintain registration will result in immediate termination.

Starting Pay Range: $26.87 - $29.86 per hour, depending on experience.


Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm
