Regional Logistics Manager - Mid-West Region

Location - Mars US sites considered

The Regional Logistics Manager (RLM) provides leadership and accountability for service, cost & quality of the integrated warehousing, co-packing and transportation services across the region that satisfy our customer and business needs.

This position is directly responsible for the entire performance of Logistics operations (and spend) within the region , including 3PL operated Distribution Centers, Mars operated warehouses, and transportation services. The RLM will have shared responsibility for all shipments (RO's and CO's) from Plants within the defined region. This role will ensure the plant warehouse performance and distribution is aligned with the network warehousing, development strategies, transportation and shuttling.

Other key responsibilities include identification, evaluation and implementation of continues improvement initiates within the supply chain as well as formulation and recommendations on Supply Chain business processes, systems and the IT strategies.

What are we looking for?


  • Minimum BA/BS in Logistics, Business or equivalent.

  • Minimum 10 years business experiencein Supply Chain or Logistics

  • Minimum 5 years people leadership

  • Ability to travel 30% of the time

  • CPG and understanding of the food industry is strongly preferred

  • Leadership experience in multiple fields of supply chain- i.e. warehouse, transportation, planning, manufacturing, procurement.

  • Broad experience in supply chain (planning, manufacturing, order management, physical logistics operations).

  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain systems.

  • Ability to develop and manage external vendor relationships and drive continuous improvement.

  • Project management skills.

What will be your key responsibilities?


  • Effectively manage logistics and co-pack quality, service (on-time performance: both inbound and outbound, OS&D's, inventory accuracy) for region.

  • Manage risk and protect Mars' interest with regard to government regulatory requirements, internal quality standards, inventory accuracy and stock rotation.

  • Administration and management of record keeping and control processes over material flows and inventory management

  • Manage Adherence To Schedule (ATS) for site Co-pack activities.

  • Monitor and provide storage capacity planning to meet space requirements across all sites within the region.

  • Implementation and start-ups of new facilities in accordance with the Network strategy. Lead end to end solutions to support seamless customer impacts while moving operations to support customer centric network.

  • Planning and management of the 3rd party resources.

  • Transportation efficiency improvement opportunities at manufacturing sites and RDC (e.g., deployment accuracy, mode optimization, truck weights, minimizing detention for inbound, outbound, etc.)

  • Leads the process of site operational KPIs creation, implementation and harmonization.

  • Lead the implementation of enabling technologies (Equipment & Systems).

  • Identify and develop continuous improvement plans (DIB) for each service provider.

  • Lead the harmonization of co-pack & logistics strategy.

  • Effectively manage integrated Logistics, Quality, Customer Care and continuous improvement activities across all Mars Petcare US Regional Distribution Centers and Transportation network.
