Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and talented Civil Engineering Intern to join our Transportation team for a dynamic internship opportunity. As an intern, you will have the chance to work on real-world projects, gain valuable hands-on experience, and collaborate with experienced professionals in the field of transportation engineering.

This is an entry-level Intern position for professional work in the design of roadways. Assignments are designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Receives close supervision on new aspects of assignments.

The work typically involves basic CADD work using Microstation and rudimentary design assignments such as establishing horizontal alignments, setting grades, detailing and quantity takeoff’s for project features. These features usually include roadway, drainage, traffic control, signage, signals, structure and other miscellaneous type improvements. Close supervision is typically required and frequent mentoring is provided to properly develop proper engineering skills. The ability to work within a team is paramount.




  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation engineering.
  • Strong academic record with coursework in transportation planning and design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and other engineering design tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability considerations in transportation engineering is a plus.
  • Previous internship or coursework related to transportation engineering is preferred
