Job Description:
Possess an uncompromised commitment to SAFETY adhering to all mill safety policies and attends safety training as scheduled. All Boilers MUST enforce strict housekeeping.
To function in an environment of employee-based leadership and continuous improvement initiatives
Knowledge in working safe in a safe team environment
Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and responsibility on every aspect of the job
Responsible to complete assigned work with minimal supervision
Operate and maintain all boilers and boiler related equipment
Fire boiler to insure reliable steam supply
Routine equipment checks, inspections, lubrication, and maintenance
Demonstrate problem solving skill sets
Log boiler related changes on shift log
Perform tests and adjustments to maintain proper chemical balance in boiler water, steam, and feedwater
Ensure operation of boiler and air pollution control equipment are within state and federal guidelines
Operate ash removal system and unloading equipment
Operate coal system to unload train cars and fill bunkers using Kawasaki K65 loader/forklift
Comply with provisions of Greif Standards of Business Conduct Policy
Desired Experience/Qualifications/Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge and ability to work safe in a team environment
Possess clear oral and written communication skills
Computer skills in MS Word and Excel
Carry out assignments with minimal supervision
Basic reading and math skills
Experience in reading charts, meters, and gauges
Use of common hand and power tools (electric drills, grinders, etc.)
Ability to understand, retain, and perform complex procedures related to boiler operation
