Job Summary:
Take charge of a dynamic and ever-evolving fleet operation for a national construction company that is expanding both in revenue and geography. As the Equipment Services Manager, you'll be at the helm of ensuring the strategic acquisition of assets, maximizing equipment utilization, and driving the department's profit and loss (P&L) performance. This role is essential for shaping the company's operations, combining analytical prowess, hands-on leadership, and a deep understanding of industry trends to ensure safety, efficiency, and operational excellence. Your efforts will focus on minimizing downtime, optimizing fleet resources, and ensuring the company's competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cultivate and manage strong relationships with leading equipment manufacturers, dealers, and service providers.
2. Ensure all fleet activities comply with federal, state, and DOT safety standards, while also meeting the evolving needs of the company.
3. Oversee financial performance by analyzing trends and benchmarking repair and maintenance costs against the budget.
4. Maximize operational efficiency by optimizing fleet utilization and managing resource allocation. Provide detailed, actionable reports to senior leadership.
5. Spearhead strategies for equipment acquisition, leasing, and disposition to align with the company's growth trajectory.
6. Lead high-stakes negotiations for contracts and service agreements, driving cost savings and operational improvements.
7. Establish comprehensive metrics to track equipment utilization, cost efficiency, and department P&L, delivering insightful reports to executive management.
8. Direct the sourcing of materials, services, and equipment for projects nationwide, ensuring all decisions are aligned with both budget and operational goals.
9. Set ambitious revenue and cost-saving targets for the department, reflecting the company's strategic plans. #LI-RP1
Qualifications:
1. 12+ years of experience in managing large-scale equipment fleets, with demonstrated success in leadership roles overseeing teams and department operations.
2. Extensive knowledge of DOT regulations and best practices in fleet safety and compliance.
3. Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or other related field.
4. AEMP Certified Equipment Manager (CEM) or Equipment Management Specialist (EMS) preferred.
5. Advanced analytical and financial management skills, particularly in budget development and cost management.
6. Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, asset management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Willingness to travel and adapt to flexible hours to meet operational demands.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or bend.
- Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects.
- Occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods.
- Regular use of phone, computer systems, and other electronic tools to communicate with internal teams and vendors.
