Job Description:

Leidos QTC Health Services is seeking a dedicated IT Infrastructure Sr. Manager responsible for overseeing the implementation of infrastructure technology focusing on innovation and transformation of IT services. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Engineering & Innovation.


As an IT Infrastructure Sr. Manager, you will play a crucial role in improving and innovating the delivery of IT services within the organization. Your primary focus will be in leading a team of engineers in delivering new and transformative services, processes, and tools to enable the next generation of digital capabilities.


This role will be a combination of technical hands-on and managing a small but growing team of Infrastructure Engineers. The role will be considered a driver of technology and forward thinking.


* this is a remote role with preference to candidates residing in CST or EST time zones. 


In this role, you will:



  • Lead a team of engineers in implementation and continuous improvement of IT services and relevant technologies and methodologies.

  • Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting open communication, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive team success through effective resource allocation, workload prioritization, and conflict resolution.

  • Develop and implement performance management processes, providing regular feedback and support for professional growth.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop innovative IT solutions.

  • Evaluate feasibility and potential impact of proposed innovations, considering factors such as cost, scalability, and risk.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization in IT service delivery

  • Initiate and drive proof-of concept projects to demonstrate the value and feasibility of innovative ideas.

  • Guide approved projects from proof-of-concept phase to final production implementation.

  • Lead and collaborate with internal cross functional teams in delivering innovative or service enhancing technologies.

  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to leverage external expertise and resources as needed to augment internal capabilities.

  • Measure and analyze the success of innovation initiatives, collecting feedback and iterating through the process as necessary to foster continuous improvement.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to direct reports and colleagues on innovative approaches and best practices.

  • Have a ‘think outside of the box’ mindset to bring innovation and transformation for on premise and cloud workloads and infrastructure as a whole.


Position Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution w/ 10 years experience leading teams or projects. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • 6+ years of IT engineering experience in an enterprise or global organization.

  • Ability to inspire, guide, and develop team members, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a high-performance culture.

  • Prior experience in IT engineering, with a focus on innovation, transformation and improvement of existing services and processes.

  • Ability to deliver new products and services from the initial design to implementation.

  • Have an engineering mindset while designing and rolling out new services and products.

  • Knowledge of automation tools and technologies, such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar.

  • Knowledge of bash/shell scripting and IaC tools such as Terraform. Ability to write automation scripts to complete tasks.

  • Basic understanding of AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations) concepts in transforming how IT teams manage and optimize their operations.

  • Understanding of ITIL framework and IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices.

  • Ability to coordinate delivery on multiple concurrent projects and summarize status to senior executive level.

  • Anticipates future technology needs, and identifies proactive solutions

  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks, allocating resources effectively, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear, open, and constructive dialogue across all levels of the organization.

  • Expertise in setting goals, providing feedback, and supporting professional development to maximize team potential.

  • Knowledge of agile technologies and tools, such as Jira or Azure DevOps (ADO)

  • Driver mentality and engineering mindset


Desired Skillsets:



  • Knowledge of ServiceNow cloud software platform and related ITIL/ITSM modules

  • ITIL certification

  • Formal Project Management experience or certifications

  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies and the ability to manage and optimize cloud infrastructure using AI-driven insights.

  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes) to automate deployment and scaling of applications.

  • Advance knowledge of AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations) concepts, such as AI-driven security tools, AI-driven monitoring and observability tools, AIOPs solutions support continuous improvement, reducing operational complexity and enhancing system reliability.


Pay and Benefits:


Salary range - $130,000 - $175,000
