Job Description:

SUMMARY 

This position is responsible for managing, analyzing, and troubleshooting data quality issues related to vaccine administration data received by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). With minimal direction, the Vaccine Data Quality Support Analyst performs duties related to the support of vaccine surveillance to improve the accuracy and reliability of warehoused vaccination data.

This is a remote work position and is grant funded through 6/30/2025 may be extended if funding is available.

The salary range for this position is $82,600 - $89,743 per year depending on experience/qualifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  


  • Independently communicates with multiple representatives from all levels of vaccine provider organizations to provide details related to the data submission process and requirements.

  • Independently communicates with internal CDPH partners, local health departments and vaccine provider organizations to troubleshoot data issues.

  • Reconcile information from multiple sources to identify, troubleshoot, execute data cleanup, and resolve data discrepancies.

  • Clearly and accurately tracks data quality issues and vaccine providers’ efforts to remediate these issues.

  • Develop training materials to document error monitoring and resolution process steps. Develop process improvements to enhance overall data quality.

  • Plans, organizes, and develops monitoring and reporting systems to measure data quality efforts.

  • Interact with pandemic/epidemic response and Immunization Branch program partners at all organizational levels to support data quality improvements and needs.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Manager, Vaccine Reporting and Analytics

JOB QUALIFICATIONS  


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in a professional setting and the ability to identify needs when working with audiences consisting of different roles and technical backgrounds.

  • High level problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge and application of security and confidentiality requirements for reportable disease/public health surveillance data and protection of public health information.

  • Demonstrated reliability and integrity

Education/Experience  


  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Experience interacting with State and local public health departments, epidemiologists, and other health agency staff.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task on projects for multiple entities at varying speeds/timelines.

  • Ability to prioritize deliverables with little to no guidance.
