Job Description:

JOB RESPONSIBILLITIES:

Responsible for timely and accurate insurance A/R follow-up within assigned split including reconsiderations, appeals, payer secure messaging, adjustment requests, etc.

Provides support for leadership team on special project assignments.

Identifies areas for improvement on denials where proper steps were not taken by the billing and A/R team members. Findings are reported to the appropriate team lead to provide further guidance and training for the team.

Processes payer correspondence (mail and explanation of benefits) within five days of receipt.

Documents all communication with patients and payers within the Information System.

Reviews payer bulletins to keep current on information regarding billing and reimbursement.

Discusses account status and insurance processing with patients

May assist with training of new and existing employees.

Performs additional related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. At least 2 years of previous experience in medical billing and/or A/R follow-up required. Experience with Cerner and claims scrubbers preferred. Must be proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.

SCHEDULE:


Monday- Friday; 8am-4:30pm. May work hybrid.
80 hours per two-week pay period.
