Job Description:

The OU HSC Office of Enterprise Risk Management is an important part of Office of Legal Counsel, serving the Oklahoma City and Tulsa Campuses. Our department is dedicated to providing risk management services in an effort to identify and manage the organization's risk exposures. We are looking for a Risk Management Coordinator to join our team.


Under administrative direction, supports the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programs and initiatives, policies and procedures, and applicable State and Federal laws. Assists in the development of ERM policies and procedures.  Administers various campus-wide risk management programs.  May serve as a campus liaison with other State entities and third-party insurance carriers to facilitate claims processes.  Manages other risk related matters.  Assists with the acquisition of property, including assessment of owned, leased or University controlled space.


Duties:



  • Assists with development and review of ERM policies and procedures.  Administers campus wide ERM programs.  

  • Provides recommendations for ERM program improvement, development and revisions.  

  • Assists with the revision of risk related policies and procedures.  

  • Acts as a customer service representative to the claimant.  

  • Network with departments and University employees to further safety and ERM programs. Coordinates the claims process with the State's risk management division. 

  • Processes insurance claims and submits required reports as applicable.  

  • Maintains database of all incidents/claims reported to ERM.  

  • Searches incidents/claims database when other departments submit old or archived records that are at or past destruction date.

  • Performs liability and risk management analysis based on incident reports and/or claims patterns.  

  • Monitors emerging liability claims patterns.  

  • Inspects construction projects, new property acquisitions and leases, existing structures/buildings/properties owned, leased or controlled by the University to identify risk mitigation opportunities and oversee risk remediation. 

  • Maintains current knowledge of University's insurance coverage, and regulations and laws.  

  • Provides training for the departments in various areas of ERM, including but not limited to travel, motor vehicle damage/rental, minors on campus, and general risk mitigation.

  • Assists with gathering and analyzing loss data as required by applicable insurance coverage and for internal purposes.

  • Performs various tasks, including special projects, as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in related field, AND:



  • 24 months of risk management, insurance, or environmental health and safety related experience.
