ImOn Communications has been the LOCAL choice for high-speed Internet, cable TV, and phone in Eastern Iowa since 2007. As we grow our network, we are looking for an Installation and Service Trainer to join our team.

The Installation and Service Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs that educate employees on the proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of products or services at ImOn. Ensures technicians can effectively set up and service equipment while adhering to quality standards and customer satisfaction goals; this typically involves hands-on training in the field and classroom training using real-world scenarios, technical knowledge of the product, and proficiency in safety procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Curriculum Development:
Create comprehensive training materials including manuals, presentations, and practical exercises covering installation procedures, product features, troubleshooting guides, safety protocols, and customer service best practices.
Training Delivery:
Conduct classroom and on-site training sessions, demonstrating proper installation techniques, equipment operation, and troubleshooting steps to new and existing technicians.
Skills Assessment:
Evaluate trainees' competency through practical assessments, knowledge checks, and performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
Performance Monitoring:
Track trainee progress, provide feedback, and address any performance gaps to ensure consistent quality in installations and service delivery.
Technical Expertise:
Stay updated on product specifications, new features, and industry standards to incorporate relevant information into training programs.
Quality Control:
Ensure adherence to company installation guidelines, safety procedures, and customer service standards during training sessions.
Mentorship:
Provide ongoing support and guidance to technicians post-training to address any challenges or questions they may encounter in the field.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provide leadership to others though example and sharing of knowledge/skills.
Routine and other maintenance on company provided truck
Keep company provided truck clean
Report any damages to company provided truck.
Company provided tools are issued to employee and if lost damage or stolen need to be reported immediately for replacement.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
We are looking for people with:
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 3 years of combined experience in installation and/or service.
Experience with training adult learners in a classroom is a plus.
NCTI or SCTE certification preferred.
Valid Iowa Driver’s License with a driving record that allows for you to be insured by ImOn’s insurance carrier.
Capable to carry, climb and operate extension ladder, (approx. 28 ft high and 75+ pounds).
Must accommodate various working conditions such as: Poorly ventilated areas such as attics during extreme heat, dust, dirt, noise, insects, cleaning solution; work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night; work near power lines and electricity.
Capable to climb poles using gaffs, hooks and climbing belt as needed.
