Subaru of America, Inc.'s Internship Program provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain real-world experience related to their major. The Regional Business (Central Region) internship is for students pursing a Bachelor's Degree with major in Business Management, Marketing, or Communications.
Course of Study
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with a major in Business Management, Marketing, or Communications or MBA with a concentration in Business Management, Marketing, or Communications. Other Business Programs may be considered.
Term
1 year in length (37.5 hours per week during the summer; ~20-25 hours per week during school year)
Internship to begin in May and end the following May
Location - Subaru Central Region Office in Coppell, TX 75019
$20 an hour (undergrad)
Qualifications
Juniors, Seniors planning to pursue a Master's Degree, or students currently enrolled in a Master's Program
Must be an active student for the entire length of internship
Curriculum and/or work experience portray a dedication to the pursuit of a Business-oriented or sales career
Some local weekend work may be required; no travel outside the Philadelphia-metro area or overnights required
Skills
Strong written communications, presentation, and customer-service skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to seamlessly navigate online search engines, social platforms and understanding of digital advertising
Responsibilities
This position will provide experience and exposure to the Regional and Zone Sales Offices within the Subaru Central Region. This regional sales territory is the central-third of the United States. There will be an assigned rotation in all departments, with varied department job duties and projects. You will have exposure to daily departmental operations by supporting projects, participating in planning and executing meetings and events, and occasionally managing projects for various other Groups.
For example, daily responsibilities may include:
Work within different business systems for Special ad-hoc assignments requiring creativity and heavy analytical skills, with an advanced Excel expertise.
Assist in preparing vehicle sales analysis, estimates and measurement of weekend customer traffic
Assist in Retailer incentive administration, emails or newsletters
Assist in the planning and attend local meetings/events in support of regional sponsorships tracking the return on investment
Update calendars to be shared throughout the region with national, regional, and zone level events
Work with marketing partners on special campaigns (i.e., vehicle launch, VIP and STL promotions, etc.)
Participate in distribution and data collection for promotional campaigns.
Assist in the coordination of projects, employee events and meetings
Must be able to prioritize projects, update reports on vehicle orders, manufacturing competitive trends, and accessory sales
Develop e-mail campaigns for regional sponsored events
Work with Retailers to update their website platforms with information about events and promotions
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Coordinate special projects to support department initiatives
