The Department of Biology at Rollins College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Ecology (marine, freshwater, terrestrial, with a preference for aquatic) beginning August 2025. The area of ecological sub specialization is open, with a preference for candidates who can build and expand upon the expertise of our current faculty (see our departmental website at www.rollins.edu/biology).
The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence both in the classroom and in the field. Teaching responsibilities will include a general Ecology course for majors, a summer field course for majors, our General Biology series for majors, advanced courses in their area of expertise, and developing and teaching a general education course for non-science majors. A Ph.D. in Biology or in the biological sciences with an emphasis in ecology is required, and post-doctoral experience is preferred.
In addition to teaching, successful candidates are expected to conduct research in their biological discipline. Areas of research are open, but any research program must be appropriate for working with undergraduates in the lab and/or field.

Minimum Qualifications and Education:
Ph.D. in the biological sciences with an emphasis on or the ability to teach Ecology. Post-doctoral experience is preferred but not required.
Experience teaching at undergraduate college level.
Demonstrated or articulated commitment to teaching excellence, preferably in the liberal arts.
Ability or desire to contribute to, help foster, and sustain a diverse and inclusive learning and working environment at Rollins.
