The Industrial Cleaner will maintain sanitary condition of equipment by following effective sanitation methods to meet regulatory requirements, with a safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a safety-culture for the benefit of the company and its employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintains sanitary condition of equipment by disassembling equipment and cleaning to regulatory standards with use of high pressure water @ 140 - 160 F; following proper chemical allocation and cleaning applications
Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed
Adhere to all break and lunch requirements for the position.
Learn and execute 8 steps of sanitizing equipment, work area, and other requirements for a quality operation
Fulfill inspection requirement of equipment after sanitation process is complete.
Must understand the corrective action process
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
Not applicable.
Requirements:
Able to speak English preferred
Previous related experience preferred
Knowledge of GMP,HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
Able to work night shift; overtime and weekends as needed
Effective communication skills
Learn and understand the three main areas of contamination.
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds occasionally throughout 8 hour shift
Able to tolerate hot/steam and wet conditions 8+ hours per day
Able to work around and with chemicals including alkaline detergents, acid and chlorine liquids, and caustic soaps
Standing, walking, and climbing 8+ hours per day
Training Period:
Minimum six months meeting all above requirements; up to three years
