This is a 2nd shift (evening) position. The Cook/Chill Technician will perform duties to ensure proper cook and chill methods are conducted in accordance with product specification and USDA regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with employee and food safety procedures, rules and regulations
Prepare cook or chill tanks by filling and setting temperatures
Prepare dollies for cook process
Monitor tank water levels, temperatures, and equipment performance throughout the cook/chill processes, making adjustments as needed
Record product and cook information on appropriate forms or enter into computer system
Select appropriate recipe programs in computer system
Pull racks of product and move to next phase of process
Conduct hand probe temperature readings on cooked product
Operate jeep/walker for the movement of product
Complies with and adheres to all employee safety and food safety programs
Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
Able to speak, read, and write English, bilingual Spanish preferred
High school graduate or equivalent
Basic computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Proficient with basic math skills
Willing and able to work overtime and weekends
One to three years related experience preferred
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds daily
Able to push/pull between 1000-1500 lbs with assistance daily
Able to tolerate extreme temperatures daily
Able to climb vertical ladders 3-4 feet off ground frequently throughout the day
Walking or standing 100% of day
Bending/stooping daily
Training Period:
Minimum 90 days meeting all above requirements; up to one year
