General Summary
The School of Nursing is searching for part-time lecturers (PTLs) to work with our full-time faculty on an as-needed basis to teach clinical and/or didactic nursing courses. PTLs are paid by the credit hour for courses taught. A master's degree or higher is required for this position per our accreditation standards. This position is for assignment to potential open courses that start in the Winter 2025 semester. Applicants will be contacted towards mid-Nov to December if openings are available.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The primary professional responsibility of the Employee is teaching. Employees are expected to develop and maintain their professional skills in order to ensure high quality education for their students.
Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.
Perform related departmental duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Active and unrestricted MI nursing license, Master's Degree or Higher completed prior to starting the position appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with teaching clinical and/or undergraduate students is ideal but not required.
