RN Unit Manager
Schedule: Typical hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
Nursing Staff Management - Recruit, hire, train, and supervise nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Ensure staff compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and schedule coverage.
- Clinical Oversight
- Oversee resident care to ensure quality standards are met.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings.
- Conduct resident assessments and develop care plans.
- Monitor and ensure proper documentation of resident care.
- Administrative Duties
- Manage unit operations and coordinate daily activities.
- Maintain accurate resident records and reports.
- Ensure proper inventory and supply levels.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Implement and maintain infection control protocols.
- Oversee incident reporting and investigation processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- 3-5 years of long-term care nursing experience.
- Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
