Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Summary: The Engineering Technician will perform all aspects of engineering testing, evaluating new products, and developing processes to ensure high quality standards are met in the production environment. The Engineering Technician will also be responsible for performing complex tests on standard and special devices to determine compliance with specifications. They will also develop test methods and procedures as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Supports engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro‑mechanical systems and experimental design circuitry
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing and trouble-shooting functions.
Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
Performs repair and rework for PCBA's. Assists in the design, construction, and test.
Uses manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
Develop and maintain engineering fixtures/breakout boards needed to test PCBAs
Maintain spreadsheets/documentation required for rework and prototype tracking
Maintain the lab including calibration, ordering of equipment and keeping the stocked with the proper supplies
Supports Shipping/Receiving of equipment and parts.
Education including graduation from military electronics school, electronics technical institute or an Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology. An equivalent amount of related experience may be substituted for this academic background.
Experience of two or more years as an Engineering Technician with the company or equivalent experience outside the company.
Knowledge of electronics theory, documentation standards and procedures, and manufacturing policies and procedures.
Skill in the assembly of breadboards and prototypes from preliminary design information; maintaining project documentation; interfacing with engineering in the implementation of new designs; calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies.
Knowledge in 3D printing and its application
Ability to interface with supervisory and technical personnel throughout the company regarding preproduction and production matters.
Investigate and report on circuit, assembly or composite performance problems and recommend acceptable solutions to those problems.
