The Content Writer helps to execute marketing and editorial initiatives within the Marketing and Communications team, working on a variety of key messages, from marketing ad copy to emails, website pages, video scrips, event content, magazine features for The College’s annual President’s Report, and more. This position reports to the content manager.
The College is charting a bold vision for its centennial in 2027, and the content team’s messaging plays an important role in connecting with financial professionals, corporate and nonprofit leaders, and consumers looking to improve their personal relationship with wealth.
This individual will:
Develop clear messaging, within brand and on strategy, across a large variety of tactics – including email copy, print advertisements, and brochures to editorially-driven work on white papers, resource guides, infographics, video scripts, website insights, newsletters, and more.
Create web copy that clearly tells The College’s story, demonstrates value, and is aligned to search engine optimization (SEO) standards.
Lead and develop internal and corporate communications projects as necessary.
Executed Contributions
Content Production. Produce original, relevant, clear, and compelling copy that engages and informs with a clear call to action. Content will span print and digital mediums, including content marketing, editorial thought leadership, magazine-style features, event recaps, webcast materials, and more. Provide writing support for a variety of programs and projects as needed, including messaging to external audiences and internal stakeholders.
Content Management. Help maintain and update content strategy/editorial calendar.
SEO Content Creation. Implement foundational SEO principles in all digital content.
Team Collaboration. Work with marketing colleagues in design, digital marketing, events, and video production teams, along with other external stakeholders, students and alumni, and The College’s Centers of Excellence as needed to connect content and creative execution.
Continuous Improvement. Help unpack data and analytics from enterprise strategic content initiatives, working with direct supervisor, peers, and other internal departments to make sense of the numbers and inform future content decisions.
Quality Control. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail across projects that reflects positively on The College’s brand and strategic priorities.
This position requires an individual who has a passion for writing, storytelling, and marketing and can translate The College’s unique value and programming into compelling messages for the financial services profession and society.
Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, journalism, communications, or related field.
One to two years of corporate or editorial writing experience required. Internships will be considered experience.
Clear competency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Docs/Sheets.
Proficiency in AP style preferred.
Strong understanding of messaging tailored to traditional and emerging channels.
Ability to distill varying viewpoints and complex ideas into captivating or concise messaging, depending on the need or channel.
Consistency in delivering a clear voice across content, with ability to tailor core themes and value props to specific audiences.

Some travel may be required.

Salary Grade Minimum: $58,500.00 ***The starting base salary is determined based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, internal equity, departmental budgets, qualifications, licenses, specialty, and training.
