500006 - The On-Call Banquet Server works as part of the Catering Department team, and directly under the supervision of the Catering Managers and Banquet Captain. On-Call Banquet Servers work at catered events on the University of Richmond campus, providing courteous service of food and beverages to the University faculty and staff and their guests, and to off-campus clients. On-Call Banquet Servers assist in all set-ups, serving, clearing, restocking and break down of events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for assisting in all aspects of set-up, break-down, and service at various catered events on the University of Richmond campus
Must have basic food safety knowledge
Must be able to operate various equipment safely (ex: coffee machines, dishwashers)
Responsible and trustworthy
Self-motivated, pro-active, and able to work independently
Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
Willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
Effective verbal communication skills
Courteous and well mannered
Must be able to bend, lift and stoop frequently (ex: serving trays with food)
Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
Ability to carry 40 lbs., (food tray / we will train)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED preferred
WORK HOURS:
Part-time/Temporary, non-exempt position, works as needed
Weekly hours vary (less than 1,000 hours/year), must be available to work days, nights, and weekends
SALARY STRUCTURE:
Pay Grade 1 (Rate starting at $20.00 per hour)
