Reporting to the Director of ED, the Clinical Nurse delivers high quality of care to patients in an Emergency Room setting.
Responsibilities:
As a member of our staff, you'd be expected to apply high-level nursing expertise in emergency situations that can, at times, be stressful. Acute and critical care units can be fast-paced. Your duties and responsibilities may require split-second decision-making skills and would include the following:
• Quickly assessing the severity of patients' conditions.
• Observing and recording patient vital signs.
• Administering intravenous fluids and medications.
• Properly using ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment.
• Ordering diagnostic tests.
• On-the-spot collaboration with other team members.
• Applying nursing protocols to life-threatening situations.
What you will need
Required:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN within a specific time frame)
Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association)
Preferred:
BSN or MSN preferred
At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting
Pay Range: $35.41 - $54.19
Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
