The Live Production Intern will work in a variety of Live Production locations which may include the Feed Mill, Hatcheries, Broiler Service, and Breeder Service. They will also gain exposure to operation support departments such as Accounting, Safety, and Human Resources etc. Our interns are expected to contribute to our success through innovative ideas and value creation. Based on successful performance and the talent needs of our business, internships are intended to provide exposure to a real-life work environment, regular interaction with a supervisor, practical experience in the poultry live production industry, the opportunity to self-evaluate personal strengths and opportunities for further development, and development of workplace competencies. This position is responsible for learning all aspects of live production by working with the Team Members, techs and managers to learn how to promote a safe working environment and produce a quality product in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include observing and learning how to ensure the area is running and producing at the greatest capacity possible while maintaining high quality. Will observe and learn how to work with Maintenance and other resources to ensure the equipment is working properly and meets regulations. Will help the service techs and or managers whenever called upon and perform any other duties as the need arises. Observing and learning the above duties will prepare the intern for the responsibility of being an Operations Associate or Service Tech. Intern must understand the interactions between growers, service techs, truck shop, hatchery, and feed mill.
This position is slated for candidates who are currently local to this area. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local candidates are not selected, candidates from other areas will then be reviewed for consideration.
Housing will be provided for any chosen candidate that is located outside of a 50-mile radius.
This is a summer internship and will require approximately 40 working hours per week in-person at our Center, TX Plant.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university. Students seeking a degree in Poultry Operations or other Agriculture related field are preferred.
Experience: Previous work experience of any kind is preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Availability: Must be willing to work multiple shifts

Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills
Ability to multitask; motivated self-starter.
