Located in the College of Liberal Arts, the Department of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and enrolls over 360 music majors. Our 65 faculty members contribute to a robust creative and scholarly environment. The Department offers a Bachelor of Music degree with emphases in Performance, Music Education, Music Business, Music Audio Production, Theory, Composition, and Jazz Studies. The Department also offers a Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry Studies degree. The Masters of Music degree is offered in Music Education; Performance in voice and on all classical and jazz instruments, including conducting; Music Theory; and Jazz Composition. The Department also offers a graduate performance certificate. Opportunities abound at the University to collaborate with other strong researchers in a variety of fields.
College of Liberal Arts InformationIn the College of Liberal Arts (CoLA), students receive an education centered on the cultivation of creativity, research, and analytical skills. CoLA is one of UTA's most diverse academic units. We house 12 departments in the fine and performing arts, humanities, and social sciences, serving over 3,600 students through twenty-eight undergraduate and twenty-one graduate degree programs, including 3 PhD tracks.
