Job Description:

Budget Title: Staff Associate (SL-4)

Salary: Commensurate with experience (full-time, temporary)

The BUCS School Mental Health Project Director will report to the Executive Director of Binghamton University Community Schools (BUCS). The primary role will be to lead the Rural Mental Health in Schools Expansion Initiative and the Family Partner Program, overseeing planning and implementation, and ensuring the deliverables and projected outcomes are met. Minimum qualifications are a master's degree in Social Work and 5 years' experience in both a supervisory role and working with schools.

The BUCS School Mental Health Project Director will

• Lead the Rural Mental Health in Schools Expansion Initiative and the Family Partner Program:
  
  
  • Understand the proposals and deliverables associated with the projects
  
  
  • Perform operational tasks and staff assignments to reach outlined timeline and outcomes of the projects
  
  
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as institutional policies
  
  
  • Develop and implement a communication plan to keep partners and staff informed
  
  
  • Manage and submit reports to the funder
  
  
  • Join meetings associated with the projects
  
  
  • Provide presentations associated with the initiative
  
  
  
  


• Supervise BUCS School Mental Health Assistant Director of Clinical Services:
  
  
  • Meet regularly to provide guidance and manage performance
  
  
  • Provide annual performance evaluations
  
  
  
  


• Supervise Site Supervisors:
  
  
  • Meet regularly to provide guidance and manage performance
  
  
  • Provide annual performance evaluations
  
  
  
  


• Support Recruitment of Social Work Interns:
  
  
  • Collaborate with the BUCS team to disseminate recruitment materials to potential social work interns
  
  
  • Provide BUCS Director of Strategic Partnerships with number of social work interns needed for the School Mental Health Projects
  
  
  • Support BUCS Director of Strategic Partnerships with the interview and placement process
  
  
  • Facilitate outreach and onboarding for accepted social work interns
  
  
  
  


• Lead the BUCS Regional Network:
  
  
  • Develop and implement a schedule of weekly meetings for Site Supervisors to discuss challenges and successes of program implementation, receive professional development, and exchange resources
  
  
  • Develop and implement a quarterly schedule of meetings with school and community partners to deliver program updates, discuss community needs, and co-develop solutions using a University-assisted community schools (UACS) approach
  
  
  
  


• Assist with evaluation and data collection:
  
  
  • Meet regularly with program evaluator (MetriKs), Pl, and co-PI's, to review and assist with data collection
  
  
  • Disseminate findings and support publications associated with both projects
  
  
  
  


• Support project budget:
  
  
  • Understand and manage project budgets in collaboration with the Pl and Financial Operations Associate
  
  
  • Lead decisions associated with allocation of funds
  
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Masters in Social Work


• Experience working with PK - 12 education


• Experience supervising staff and social work interns


• Experience with managing and reporting for federal grants

Preferred:

• Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW)


• Understanding of child protective services and reporting


• Experience working with foster care system
