Position Overview
The Optical Communication System Engineer/Researcher is responsible for conducting experimental work on validation of new concepts in high-capacity undersea fiber-optic communication systems. The role will support research and advanced technology projects across the organization that require knowledge of various aspects related to fiber optic communication systems, optical amplifiers, components, and test equipment.
Responsibilities
• Work on planning and conducting experiments in fiber optic data transmission and sensing.
• Aggregate and summarize results and present internally to other teams as an input for new directions towards innovative products.
• Support parallel modeling research team though testing various novel ideas for future submarine systems.
• Assist developers and other engineers across the company using knowledge of fiber optic optical system test methods.
• Contribute to the foundation for the innovative solutions for submarine communication business.
• Active collaboration with other team members
• Develop innovative ideas to improve existing communication systems
• Consistently ensures that business is always conducted with integrity and that behavior aligns with SubCom policies, procedures, and core values
