Job Description Summary
Our Facilities Operations Manager will manage work orders in our CMMS-Archibus, and allocate resources to oversee the day to day operations on campus. The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance and operating activities at an assigned site. Individual is responsible for ensuring that timely and efficient services are delivered to the satisfaction of the customer, while meeting the company's financial objectives. Reporting to the Site Director, our successful candidate will provide strong strategic level Facilities Operations leadership. Day to day responsibilities will include developing the team, providing overall planning, establishing and maintaining effective customer rapport, and providing direction and guidance to the facilities team. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Experience in a management role on a manufacturing campus or life science setting.
Maintains a leadership role in managing and motivating the entire staff and contractors, while holding the team accountable.
Maintains a high safety standard and champions the promotion of this important company initiative.
Conducts regular facility inspections and evaluates each of the core program(s) provided at the assigned site (BMS/Mechanical, Maintenance, and Project team).
Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building.
A proven track record of successful Integrated Facilities Management leadership with technical expertise to enhance existing (or new) customer programs including short- and long-range planning, construction/renovation projects, preventative and corrective maintenance, energy management.
Strong technical knowledge of the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, RO/DI, and energy management.
Developing Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain the operating procedures to cover routine operations, startup and shutdown, maintenance and operations for all refrigerant systems, and emergency actions such as ammonia releases and load-shedding plans.
Develop building rounds and equipment schedules on either excel format or through computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Developing Operation continuity plans. Maintain a contingency plan in case of a catastrophic failure. Trouble Shooting Spec (TSS) and Out-of -Specification (OOS) documentation on site specific equipment.
Developing Emergency response plan. Loss elimination background.
Background and experience on Root cause analysis.
Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) is a plus.
Other duties may be assigned, based on business demands.
Formal Training/Education
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience
Basic Management Experience - 3 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years' work experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Expected
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Customer service mindset.
Experience with CMMS or work order systems.
Excellent time management, planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Quality System and Project Management Processes.
Must be people-oriented and a demonstrated leader.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and drive issues to closure.
Ability to identify, learn, implement, support, and react to changing business needs.
Must maintain a positive and proactive approach to ensure safety and quality is factored into all work.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of me and capable of extensive bending, stooping, stretching, pushing, and carrying.
Ability to work in an environment with exposure to dust, chemicals, and loud noises.
