Knows, understands, and communicates safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all areas of safety.
Ensures timely responses, actions, and corrections to any safety issue.
Leadership and Supervision
Responsible for the efficient organization of crews.
Assesses/evaluates the competencies and capabilities of employees on the project.
Facilitates training and coaching to ensure a high standard of excellence.
Recognizes and addresses issues/problems that may arise among crew members and provides effective resolutions.
Understands and consistently applies policies/procedures, and is involved in any day to day disciplinary decisions as applicable.
Planning and Scheduling
Accountable for following project plans/schedules, ensuring that crews perform activities to meet production goals.
Identifies needs and deficiencies in the schedule and communicates these to the appropriate individuals.
Translates general work requirements into a prioritized work plan for each crew.
Reviews and adjusts specific workforce activities and task schedules to meet established production schedules.
Identifies, verifies, and reports any scheduling conflicts.
Tasks:
Accurately, and in a timely manner, reports time worked for crew members.
Qualifications include:
Journeyman level electrician with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in industrial or heavy construction environment; mining or tunneling experience will be considered a plus.
At least two years of Foreman/Supervisor/Leadership experience highly desired.
Knowledge of project construction scope and objectives.
Ability to lead crews in a professional, productive manner.
Experience working with hand tools, power tools and electronic test equipment.
Understand schematic diagrams, blueprints and other project specifications.
Working knowledge of switchgear, motor control centers, AC motors, generators, machinery/mechanisms, frequency inverters, etc.
Strong knowledge of job site safety; commitment to project policies/procedures, objectives and safety programs.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a teamwork mentality.
Ability to work 8-10 hours per day and overtime as required, to include weekends (mostly Saturdays) and night shifts per business needs.
Knowledge of workforce planning.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and/or part of a team to achieve results and meet project deadlines.
Able to apply effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Experience working with medium voltage is desired.
Prior TBM experience is a plus.
Ability to crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects, pushing and pulling object is required.
Ability to work in high, confined and hazardous spaces.
