Our Forensic practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues .
The Role
We have an opportunity for a Designer Intern for our Forensics Practice.Designer Interns will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of staffarchitects andengineers toassist witha variety of tasks for active projects.
While project work can vary greatly from day to day, typical tasks may include the following:
On-site survey, investigation, and documentation of building conditions, includingfaçade, roof, interiors, structural andothermechanical/fire protection systems.
Assist in preparing field notes.
Assistarchitectural orengineeringteaminpreparingtechnical and investigative reports to support forensics findings and prepare materials related to presentations.
Review and research applicable building codes,ADAstandards,and all other applicable industry standards,etc.
Assistthearchitecturalteamwith thepreparation of drawings and specifications, and construction administration services.
Students should be familiar and comfortable with Microsoft Suite programs (i.e.Word, Excel,PowerPoint) and CAD programs (i.e.AutoCAD). Familiarity with any of the following programs is a plus, but is not required: Revit,Rhino, and Bluebeam.
